The Paramedic Lab contains all of the equipment, medications and devices used in the field of paramedicine. Students experience hands-on learning with all of the patient-care equipment, methods of assessment and treatment options.
The mock ambulance located in the lab allows students to practice their skills in the same setting as in the field. Students are also taught safe and appropriate lifting techniques utilizing the mock ambulance. Students participate in practical skills labs in each of the four semesters of the program.
These labs are directly linked to the theoretical concepts discussed in the in-class portion of the program. Students are also allowed to access the paramedic lab when it is not in use for classes. This provides additional practice opportunities for students during their free time.
