The Life Sciences Laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility fully equipped to support the development of career-ready graduates of the Faculty of Health Science & Wellness. Learners engage in experimental work over their program, developing and mastering relevant skills and building the confidence needed to effectively transition into work-integrated learning experiences and/or into the workforce post-graduation.

The Life Sciences Laboratory

This state-of-the-art facility was designed to provide learners with access to all resources needed to execute procedures in specialized topics within biological, chemical, biotechnological and biomedical sciences, in-line with industry standards. The laboratory houses an ever-growing list of fundamental and advanced instrumentation including microscopes, fluorescent cell imagers, thermocyclers, centrifuges, advanced gel imaging systems, mammalian culture incubators, bacterial incubators, UV/Vis spectrophotometers, cellular respiration analyzer, 3D-Bioprinter, cryostats, bioreactors, chemical fume hoods, biological safety cabinet, spectroscopic instrumentation, advanced separation equipment, rotary evaporators, and much much more!

Experiential Learning

Programs and courses that utilize the Life Sciences Laboratory employ mapped curricula providing learners the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts in a hands-on, practical setting. Immersive laboratory sessions facilitated by expert Faculty and Staff allow learners to gain invaluable insights, deepen their understanding of scientific principles, and develop and master their technical skills.
