The Coronary Care Certificate is being updated. Beginning Fall 2017, the new certificate will be called Cardiology Nursing - RN. All of the required courses will have new titles/codes and will also include a new primary prevention and rehab course.
Humber will be offering a Cardiology Nursing - RPN certificate. The certificate will be comprised of 4 theory courses as well as an experiential learning course.

This certificate is designed for registered nurses (RNs) employed in and/or seeking to advance their practice in cardiovascular nursing. You will learn nursing assessment; evidence-informed nursing interventions; and how to develop collaborative and consultative partnerships with cardiovascular clients, their support systems and other healthcare practitioners. You will also develop high-level critical thinking, care planning, leadership and professional practice skills.
This certificate is based on the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) competencies for cardiovascular nurses and completion of the certificate academically prepares students for the Cardiovascular Certification Exam.
Note: Patient Assessment (POST 500) is a required course in the Coronary Care Nursing Certificate Program prior to clinical.
