Why did you choose Humber College? and/or this program?

I chose the IPAC program at Humber because it was the first of its kind. I was interested in being part of an innovative course and getting into a dynamic field with lots of growth opportunities.

How did the faculty help you on your road to reaching your goals?

All the faculty were willing to help me when I was looking for advice on my future within the field. I was able to have one-on-one meetings with faculty members who answered any questions I had and provided great support.

Recognizing that your Humber program was online, did you use any Humber online resources, connect with staff (other than faculty)? In other words, any comments on your overall Humber College experience?

I was able to cultivate many friendships with classmates and now have people who I consider friends who are also starting their career in the IPAC.

Did you have a Work-Integrated Learning experience? (otherwise known as a field placement, an internship, a practicum). What was your biggest take-away from that?

Yes, I had a field placement and it was how I got my position with Sunnybrook. Regardless of the position, I gained invaluable experience and built relationships with many professionals within the field.

How did the program set you on your path to where you are now?

The program set me up with the knowledge to join my placement and apply my learnings. I was able to put myself in a position to prove myself and gain a position with the Sunnybrook IPAC team.

Some students attend post-graduate studies right after their degree/diploma, and some return to school after years of being away from it. Comment on your experience, and looking back what advice would you give to your first-semester self?

I would tell myself to focus on building relationships with my professors and classmates. I would also recommend to make the most of all that you learn because you will use all you learn when you’re in the field.
