Why did you choose Humber College?

While working at Baxter Customer care, I was interested in pursuing a career in Quality and Compliance. At the time, most of my colleagues had graduated from Humber programs and were successfully working in the Quality department with their desired roles. They informed me that the program was a great stepping stone and provided opportunities for entry level positions in the Quality industry. Upon researching Humber, I found that it was perfectly aligned with my interests, goals and values, provided students with great resources, offered the right program and opportunities for growth.

What are your career aspirations?

I wish to pursue a career in the Quality & Regulatory industry in Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals.

How have the faculty helped you on your road to reaching your goals?

The faculty provided me with excellent resources to successfully complete and graduate the program with honors. It was challenging for me to be employed full-time and complete the Health Sector Regulatory Compliance program at first. However, my professors and the program coordinator were extremely supportive. They had provided me with guidance and resources to better time-manage and successfully manage both. Students also received great support in finding internship placements. The program coordinator personally took the time to speak to the students and provide the necessary guidance.

What would you say has been the single best learning experience in the program you are in?

Single best learning experience was to be able to study cases and gain insight into real-world scenarios and projects designed by instructors rather than just textbooks. Such as taking part in mock audits and really understanding the link the textbook knowledge to a practical first hand scenario. Additionally, these experiences were provided by instructors who are leaders in the Quality and Regulatory Compliance sectors therefore, adding valuable knowledge and skills for me.

What elements of the program are best preparing you for your career?

Best element of this program is the instructors and being able to learn from highly skilled professionals in the industry. They are leaders in today’s market and add valuable experience in the classroom aside from the textbooks. Instructors share their current experiences in the industry and provide training and knowledge that is practical and can be directly implemented in the workforce.

Would you recommend this program to others, and why?

The Health Sector Regulatory Compliance is a great program that provides a stepping stone and a window into the world of Regulatory Compliance and the field of Quality Control. It highlights various key elements that are essential for anyone entering the field. I would highly recommend it as it is a great introductory program into the industry.

Health Sector Regulatory Compliance program is a newly developed program which not only encompasses elements of regulation but rather provides a broad overview on all the topics including Supply Chain, Ethics & Compliance, Risk Management, Quality/Audits as well as emerging trends in Regulatory Compliance. This is much more progressive and rather revolutionary to the courses offered in other colleges where there is much more focus on specific domains of the Quality or Regulatory sectors.

For this online program, the courses are delivered by excellent instructors who are current leaders in the industry. There are synchronous ‘in-class’ learning opportunities with these skilled instructors as well as self-directed independent learning courses as well which is a great mix and prepares you to work effectively in a group setting as well as independently.
