Why did you choose Humber College?

Humber College is a renowned institution that is known for its robust academic programs, extensive alumni network and helpful faculty. I chose Humber College as I knew it would bolster my resume and would be an asset to my career.

What are your career aspirations?

I aspire to be an established quality assurance professional in the fields of healthcare, pharmaceuticals and/or medical devices.

How have the faculty helped you on your road to reaching your goals?

The Humber faculty helped me tremendously in my career development, especially by providing pertinent advice and resources during my search for an internship in the fields I was interested in. They told me how I should tailor my resume to fit the requirements of the roles I was applying to, best practices, how to interpret job requirements, and how to present myself during the job interview. Their direction and advice was invaluable, and helped me secure an internship in the field that I wanted and apply industry knowledge within my role.

What would you say has been the single best learning experience in the program you are in?

Having the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge I gained during my coursework in a real world setting during my internship has been the best learning experience in my program. Understanding how the industry actually operates and uses the concepts and tools I learned about has been so insightful and fascinating to me.

What elements of the program are best preparing you for your career?

Practically all elements of the programs have prepared me to pursue my career in the field of Quality Assurance. I suppose the courses on Auditing Principles, Compliance Standards and Risk Management provided me with knowledge that I apply directly at my internship. In that regard, the internship semester of the program in itself has best prepared me for my career.

Would you recommend this program to others, and why?

I would recommend this program to others pursuing careers in the fields of regulatory affairs and quality assurance as it provides a strong foundation of knowledge for this field and provides practical internship experience. The faculty is very supportive and caring of its students, which enables them to develop a strong career network as well.
