Students in Humber’s Food and Nutrition Management program recently completed a successful series of small-group simulations, designed to provide realistic, hands-on experience in nutrition consultation.
Each student had the opportunity to work with trained actors portraying long-term care residents or hospital patients, allowing them to apply their knowledge in lifelike scenarios. These simulations, thoughtfully planned and delivered over several weeks, offered a valuable opportunity to practice assessment, communication, and care planning in a supportive environment.
The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive—students shared that the experience helped them build confidence, enhance their communication skills, and feel better prepared for real-world practice.
Congratulations to all the students who participated—you’re well on your way to making a meaningful impact in the field of food and nutrition.
A sincere thank you to the faculty and simulation team whose dedication made this experience possible, and ensuring that Humber students are equipped with the skills and confidence needed for their future careers.
