New Funding Approval: Medical Laboratory Technology Advanced Diploma

Humber Polytechnic is proud to announce that its new Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) Advanced Diploma program has officially received funding approval from the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities.

Launching at a pivotal moment, this program addresses a critical shortage of Medical Laboratory Technologists across Ontario. The demand for skilled MLTs continues to rise, driven by an aging population, the prevalence of chronic diseases, and the growing importance of diagnostic testing in modern healthcare.

Graduates of the program will be equipped with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, and public health environments. As essential members of the healthcare team, MLTs play a crucial role in patient care, disease prevention, and the overall resilience of the health system.

Humber is proud to be part of the solution and looks forward to welcoming the first cohort of future Medical Laboratory Technologists—professionals who will help shape the future of healthcare in Ontario and beyond.
