Students from Humber’s Pre-Service Firefighter and Paramedic programs recently came together for an immersive Interprofessional Education (IPE) Day at the Fire and Emergency Services Training Institute (FESTI).
Through realistic, hands-on simulations, learners worked side-by-side to perform victim rescues, provide medical support to firefighters, and explore the principles of firefighter rehabilitation—the coordinated care delivered during and after fire suppression efforts.
By operating in unified response teams, students built trust, shared responsibilities, and strengthened cross-disciplinary communication—developing the collaborative mindset essential for effective emergency response in the real world.

Special thanks to FESTI for their continued support and commitment to Humber students’ success.
