Massage Therapy Program Student Clinic

Fall 2021 Schedule (starting September 14)

Humber ‘s Massage Therapy Program Student Clinic offers appointments to everyone - faculty, staff, students & members of the community. Students in Humber’s 3-year advanced diploma Massage Therapy program offer treatments as part of their on-campus internship.

PLEASE NOTE:​​ HUMBER COLLEGE HAS A NEW POLICY FOR VISITORS TO CAMPUS

All visitors to campus must show proof of being fully vaccinated for covid-19 or show a negative covid-19 test dated within 72 hours of visit date. All visitors must also download the free Humber Guardian app and show it, along with their proof of vaccination status and personal ID to security before being allowed to enter the building.

Monday: 8:30 am, 9:45am, 12:00pm, 1:15pm, 3:45pm, 5:00pm, 7:15pm, 8:30pm
Tuesday: 12:00pm, 1:15pm, 3:45pm, 5:00pm, 7:15pm, 8:30pm
Wednesday: 3:45pm, 5:00pm, 7:15pm, 8:30pm
Thursday: 3:45pm, 5:00pm, 7:15pm, 8:30pm
Friday: Closed
Saturday: 3:45pm, 5:00pm

CLINIC FEES

  • Initial Assessment = Student $15 (incl.HST), Other $25 (incl.HST)
  • First appointment = FREE
  • Students = $15 (incl. HST)
  • Other = $25 (incl. HST)

APPOINTMENT LENGTH

Appointments, including initial assessments and treatments, are 45-minutes.

Clinic Treatment Options

INITIAL ASSESSMENT

All new patients must undergo an initial assessment prior to booking their first treatment. This will allow your massage therapy program student to develop a safe and effective treatment plan that is specific to your needs and goals. The assessment will include:

  • Health history interview
  • Pain assessment
  • Vital signs
  • Postural assessment
  • Range of motion assessment
  • Additional testing when indicated

Please bring or wear loose fitting clothing for the assessment

Note: All patients of the Massage Therapy Program Student Clinic must undergo an initial assessment at minimum once per year.

TREATMENT

Once a treatment plan has been established, you may book a treatment session. This session will include:

  • Assessment
  • Treatment
  • Reassessment
  • Remedial exercises when indicated

Note: Nature and duration of assessment and treatment will vary based on your presenting symptoms and goals.

Student Massage Treatment

Students in the Massage Therapy program provide massage treatments to members of the public and Humber Community.

Treatment Plans

For those who are new to the clinic, a massage therapy program student will conduct a patient examination and create a treatment plan specifically for your needs. You will be booked for subsequent visits for the length of time recommended in your treatment plan. Note: The treatment plan may be modified over time as you progress or your massage therapy program student determines that changes are required.

These consist of:

  • Comprehensive patient examination
  • Treatment plan
  • Treatment, where appropriate
  • Follow up assessment
  • Home care recommendations
  • Therapeutic relationship
  • Documentation

 

New Patient & Pre-Appointment Information

Appointments are 45 minutes. (*Disregard the dated comment of 30-75 minutes in the video.) Please ensure you are prepared to stay for the maximum amount of time. Watch the video to learn about the nature and purpose of the clinic and your rights and responsibilities as a patient.
