On April 6th and 8th, Food and Nutrition Management students provided a wealth of knowledge to the Humber community by organizing a Healthy Eating at Humber event in the Concourse.
Students, faculty and even Humber’s President, Chris Whitaker, visited the booths that the students presented covering topics such as pulses, healthy fats, fibre and incorporating new healthy foods into your diet.
Each booth provided samples of healthy snacks prepared by the students, as well as informative handouts and expertise from the students themselves.
“This is the program’s capstone project that really provides the students an opportunity to share the knowledge they’ve learned in the program overall,” says Tina Horsley, Program Co-ordinator, Nutrition programs. “We plan it close to the Dietitians of Canada Nutrition Month so that it’s timely and relevant to what’s happening in the industry,” she adds.
