In this course, students explore the essential elements of human resource functions in a range of organizations and how these contribute to organizational goals and employee health and wellness. Students examine the relationship between effective human resources functions and employee recruitment, retention and satisfaction, and business strategy. Students receive an introduction to functional areas of HR including proactive and reactive strategies, the impacts of stress and mental health, benefit packages, employee assistance programs, disability management and return-to-work planning, health and safety requirements, human resource planning and development.
