| The pharmaceutical industry is facing an accelerated development. As society is aging, more emphasis is being placed on the development of new drugs and the improvement of the health care system. Pharmaceutical, biotechnology and the medical device industries are experiencing constant growth, stimulated by market opportunities and by advances in biotechnology. As new therapeutic technologies and diagnostic products are developed, more jobs are created in Regulatory Affairs field. Increase demand in the quality of research and development associated with the biopharmaceutical industry has made a positive impact on the job market. As more regulatory thresholds are created, more people are hired to comply with regulatory demands.
The Regulatory Affairs profession involves the combination of scientific, legal and business perspectives to ensure appropriate compliance during new and existing product development, manufacturing and distribution. Regulatory Affairs Professionals are responsible for products’ safety and efficacy by ensuring that the appropriate licensing, marketing and legal requirements are met.

Internship/Field Placement
A three-month placement lets students apply their skills and knowledge in a real world work setting. Most internships are in the following sectors: pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations; natural health products and medical device companies; food and cosmetic industries; government agencies and consulting firms.
The industry internship portion of the program is a crucial element of education in the Regulatory Affairs program and is compulsory in obtaining a certificate. Students together with Humber staff actively cooperate with a wide variety of organizations to ensure relevant industry training is provided.
Our placement system allows students to apply to a variety of companies and clinical sites and it also allows companies to choose suitable candidates for possible positions. Students submit applications for the internship positions and are interviewed by potential internship employers, who after the interview decide regarding the internship offer.
